EMS Providers can reinstate an expired EMS certification. The process to reinstate an expired certification depends on how long the certification was expired.
- Providers expired less than one year from the date of their reinstatement application submission can reinstate by completing the required continuing education credits and having active CPR certification.
- Providers expired greater than one year but less than two years from the date of their reinstatement application submission can reinstate by completing the required continuing education credits, having active CPR certification, and successfully passing the certification assessment exam through NREMT (a computerized exam taken at a Pearson Vue Center).
- Providers expired greater than one year but less than two years from the date of their reinstatement application submission can reinstate by completing the required continuing education credits, having active CPR certification, successfully passing the certification assessment exam through NREMT (a computerized exam taken at a Pearson Vue Center), and successfully passing the certification psychotomotor exam (hands-only skills exam).
